Online Meetings Made Easy
This is the kickoff meeting for the online scrum simulation. It is scheduled to follow Marty's class in Los Angeles. His students are welcome to join our meetup and participate in the simulation regardless of whether they can attend in person meetings. There are only 9 slots available. We will take a break after the first simulation, gather lessons learned and hopefully run another.
At this meeting, we will choose the project for the Scrum simulation. We will actually pick and complete a real-world project in this simulation. Please come to this meeting with an idea for a good non-technical project that can be completed over the phone and via email within a 2-4 week timeframe. If nobody brings a topic to the table, the default project is to launch and promote Scrum Club.
Good non-technical projects are:
* Help someone get their kid's sports team up and running on http://www.eteamz.com....
* Put together an e-newsletter for PMI highlighting volunteer activities
* Help a school drama department put together a program with advertising
If I knew anyone who needed any of this, I'd pick the project myself smile
The agenda for this meeting is:
* Have all team members say hi and introduce themselves.
* Choose a project for the simulation. If it is your project you are now the product owner.
* Choose a Scrum Master
* Choose a time for daily stand up meetings.
If you do not attend the kickoff meeting an decide to join up later, you are still welcome if there is a slot open. However, because this is a simulation of how to run Scrum with a distributed team you will have to follow the process flow for "Select a Good Developer" (explained later). Since this is not an actual development project, it may be kind of a pain in the tukus.
