Hello Guys,

I am sorry for the delay in getting back to you all, I have a range of excuses from an MBA Marketing exam last Saturday ( was not very nice, made us use pens !! ) to work and family commitments.

We are looking to have two guys presenting based on what was raised in the back log. They are :

6.30 pm Running Retrospectives by Gerry Gysberts.

Gerry is going to tell us the approach he had taken to retrospectives and hopefully give some really good advice

7.15 pm Reporting Progress in Scrum / Agile by Howard McClernon.

Howard is an Agile Project Manager / Scrum Master for a major program of word. Howard is going to walk through some of the ways he needs to report on agile and explain where traditional reporting may of may not be appropriate.

Both presentations will be roughly 25 mins will alot of time for discussion afterwards.

Regards,
Martin.

Who attended?

  • 29 attendees
    •  Good presentations by experienced practitioners, lively Q&A
    •  Practical discussions on real issues faced by agile teams
    •  Thank you to the presenters, you both did a great job. It was a pretty good session overall, i enjoyed it. I went to get peoples opinions on certain matters, and i certainly got that. The retro topic seemed to be aimed at novice level agile practitioners whereas the project reporting topic seemed to be aimed at more experienced agile practitioners. (might be an idea to indicate what level the presentation will be aimed at) The two presentations covered fairly large topics, and I think a lot of the value came out of the discussion afterward, so it would be great to increase the discussion time in future.
    •  I really liked our guest speakers, both done a great job. Gerry's introduction into retrospectives was well prepared and generated alot of conversation. Howard also done well bringing so fresh commentary to a subject ofter neglected. Well done speakers
    •  Excellent presentations and lively group discussions. Looking forward to burning our backlog.
    •  Presentations went down well with lots of discussions and contribution from the audience. Good subjects identified for future meetups.
    •  I'm Sorry Guys n Gals. Been mistaken the event for Friday! Would ve been great to attend! Next time!!!
    • Thomas Morgan (+1 guest)
I thought there was a broader amount of commentary and feedback with questions and ideas coming from a number of people in the room. Although status reporting isn't that sexy a topic, it is something that we need to improve where I work in order for more Scrum / Agile projects to get the nod from our senior management
